All painted with oil and measure 80cm x 78cm. Mixture of linen and canvas on (or not) mdf board, perspex and aluminium

Exploring the notion that by painting a portrait you invariably paint a part of your 'self' and also wondering if there is any link to the level of likeness obtainable when you paint someone you know versus someone you don't know.

Wrapped up in this investigation, experimentation also took place on a material level, resulting in each image being painted on different supports, both in terms of fabric/surface and also preparation.
