I live in Reading, Berkshire, and whilst I work on my art in London, I wanted to create some sense of where I was coming from.

These nine paintings are representative of the journey I make each day to and from home to the train station – the Reading aspect of my commute.

They have been painted from photographs taken on early winter’s evenings, when the light was warm, fuzzy and wet, and we’d all much rather be wrapped up warm and indoors.

I wanted to emphasis the lighting whilst anonymising the location, which is why I abstracted the images and limited my palette to five colours.
